Don’t listen to them. You are thinking about this perfectly clearly. If you are asked in any written forms or verbally if you play, have played, or ever thought of playing an instrument. SAY NO or you will be put in Band Co.
 
There are worse fates than Band Co. My DS was in 3rd Co. and a popular sport was ridiculing Band Co. Band Co. would just say it was out of jealousy. Most band kids were faced with similar reactions in high school so they are used to it. My DD was in Band Co. and had the opportunity to make very close friendships because of being with the same classmates for all four years. Trip to DC to play with the Navy Band was a highlight of her time at KP.

If my son is assigned to Band Co. but he does not play an instrument, does he get to travel to DC let's say, when they are on a band trip? That will be cool haha
 
It depends on the trip. Those who do not play an instrument are usually taught simple percussion instruments and they do much of what the rest of the band does, including Beat Retreat and marching in lots of parades.

Duly noted lol, I put that i have played on my application. I really do not want to play band in college.

It is the official facebook page for the class of 2026 parents. The academy and National Parents Association (NPA) communicates with parents via facebook. The NPA also conducts zoom calls with the parents prior to reporting day, and throughout the academic year to provide accurate and updated information regarding activities at the academy. The NPA also assigns ambassadors to your class to answer parents questions and help them navigate and prepare the time their plebe candidates report for Indoc Indoc, as well as throughout their plebe year. Parents are always cautioned about what they post on their page to avoid something coming back on their plebe.

Any idea how often requests to join that group are accepted? Meaning how long after my request will I be admitted to group?

Once you answer the membership questions, an admin will approve your request.
