Pre-workout before CFA?

Hey, so I'm getting ready to take my CFA soon, and I had a question.

I'm a powerlifter, and often times I take pre-workout or an energy drink. Not often just sometimes.
(Pre workout hypes you up, makes you faster, stronger)

Are you allowed to take it before the CFA? I don't know about the ethical implications with it. I.e. I don't think it's ok to do so. Other opinions?

Pre-workouts before aerobic activities? you might want to research that idea.

Taking a "pre-workout" in this case (I believe) is drinking a drink.

The answer is do what you normally do, before doing sit ups, push ups, pull ups, basketball throw, shuttle run, and run. :)

You can do anything you like, as long as it’s legal. Back in the bad ol’ days, NFL and Major League players used to smoke in the locker room before games. That I don’t recommend.

You are technically allowed to drink an energy drink or pre-workout, however I would advise against it. It might be good in the short term for lifting exercises, but as soon as you start to run that mile you might throw up. All in all it is just my opinion and I have a fellow midshipmen who would drink vanilla coke before every track meet and absolutely crush it.

I still occasionally see the odd goofball that throws a dip in before their run. Don't understand how they can pull that off, but a handful wind up finishing before I do-- and I'm not exactly slow.

As a former regular pre-workout user, I agree- do what works. Stop doing it when it doesn't. You'll find as you get older that that stuff tends to just spike your heartrate and offer little else.

A little Vitamin M before your fitness test, though, that's the ticket. :)

Preworkout is fine. Just don’t take too much. Key is to take it an hour before you do the PT test. The caffeine really settles in much later and your heart rate won’t go as high like taking it 10 minutes prior. But do what works for you
