Hi. Quick Question. I recently just submitted the preliminary application for the class of 2022 and now my status is currently applicant (application is under consideration). Does anyone have any prior knowledge of how long it takes for any updates regarding whether or not you are deemed competitive enough? Also, if I receive new SAT scores before any official updates are made am I allowed to update this application or would I not be able to? Thanks

When you take SAT / ACT elect to have the scores automatically sent to USAFA [I think you get 4 schools per test for free]; they will be attached to your applicant file. You can retroactively send scores from prior tests if you did not do this already; there is a nominal reporting fee for each school per test.
Big stagegate is your 6th semester transcript / GPA; ask your HS counselor how and when this can be sent. Our HS used an online service [Parchment] for electronic transmission; else you have to have the school send it. This will likely not be available until at least a few weeks after your last final in June.
Not much gonna happen until they have your transcript and GPA for HS Junior year.
PS don't forget to send your SAT scores to your MOCs for the nomination process too . . . they will want them.
Also check on MOCs websites about what letters of recommendation will be required; you can start a checklist now.
And don't forget to run and lift all summer for the CFA which you can take anytime you prefer.

I think your good. When I applied last year, my application updated to competitive about a week or so after I submitted it, and then the full application was released in early July. Best of luck

It's all moot without a nomination - since you are competitive now focus on the MOC nomination process; that is the critical path. And don't neglect the CFA prep, you have months to workout.
