PREP

The TAMUG is actually $120,000. They do have the cost of the training cruises included in that figure. And we heard cadets during sea year earn roughly $1000 a month. So earning 10,000 as opposed to paying for your training cruises....the math adds up much better for the KP cadet. DD got the Fed Ex a few minutes ago. Thanks to talking with some current NMMI cadets, I think she is ready to commit to NMMI. Yay!!!

Congrats. . now the tough part starts. . . . . . in my day, Cadet pay was $350/month. . . . I did make a bit more, "off the books". I sailed on one ship my second half of sea year that did not have a Day 3rd Assistant Engineer and I had sailed on an identical ship the year before. The 1st Assistant Engineer paid my out of his pocket to work weekends and other OT at the rate of a Union School cadet ($7/hour) out of his own pocket. . . . I got more money from him than I did from the shipping company. . . .

Congratulations, welcome to the KP family. Kings Point is really a golden opportunity.
