I was just recently offered a USAFA prep school slot and I was reading the 2020 appointee booklet and I came across the medical FAQ section and it read "If I don’t have my wisdom teeth removed before I get to the Preparatory School, does that disqualify me? No. If you are planning to have a career in aviation then it would be in your best interest to consider having your wisdom teeth removed before arriving at the Preparatory School. If your civilian dentist has recommended you have your wisdom teeth removed, we strongly suggest you follow their advice. We recommend, removing your wisdom teeth 8 weeks prior to arriving at the Preparatory School. " Should I get them removed before I report even if I don't need to get them removed? How does it have an impact on pilot qualifications? Will it be bad if I don't get them removed before and wait till after I'm in the academy? I was reading up on some other posts and I kept seeing mixed responses so hopefully, I can get some clarification. (Note: I wasn't sure if I should've written this in the DODMERB forums or the USAFA forums move as needed)

DS is c/o23 at USAFA, his dentist recommended removal and we had the removed during Christmas break, as of now you are probably running late on having it done. It isn't a concern unless your dentist recommended removal.

Congrats on your prep school appointment! If you don’t mind, what were your SAT/ACT score? GPA? Thanks in advance.
College Reapplicant, 1220 sat 24 act (I didn’t like act) College GPA: 3.07 (got a D in chemistry which ruined my chances of getting in because I had a principal nominee, still happy for prep offer) highschool gpa: 3.97 32 out of 403. Keep your hopes up! I got the offer 3/10
