Does anyone know how long it takes for a presidential nomination to be accepted and show up in the portal? I'm not having any trouble with it, I'm just curious.

On a similar note, how long after the transcript gets sent in does it show up in the portal?

Thanks!

Right now things can take a few days to a few weeks. USNA is in their summer turnover phase and ramping up for the new class. During this time USNA is shifting roles within admissions as they ramp up the new staff. It's also a time many take leave. So no one can give your a definitive timeline, but it can vary and take up to a 3-4 weeks right now.

I recently had a PM from someone whose Presidential had just appeared. So, the flow is starting.

My MID completed the application, including Dodmerb, by June 10, sent in the paperwork for a presidential at the same time, and received an appointment on August 26. I don't think a confirmation of the presidential ever appeared on the portal in our case, even though back in the day (Class of 2017) a snail mail confirmation was received (postcard form).

Wow, that's really ambitious of him/her! I've heard of people receiving appointments in August, but I thought the admissions board first meets in September? Do you know why your Mid's appointment was given so early?

No idea - but it was dated August 26, and was accepted August 28. A huge load off beginning Senior year of HS -- and the ability to turn down Congressional interviews was an added bonus. Guess the Board met before September at least in 2016!
