Dear members of the forums,

I'd like to know about the process of earning a "Presidential Nomination". I want to go to the United States Air Force Academy or Naval Academy. I do know that you must have a parent who has received retirement pay or is active duty. My father served just over 20 years in the Coast Guard.

Thanks,
Zeek

Zeek - I shared a long note with you on another forum last night, telling you exactly where to go and how to start basic research. You have popped up in several places asking the same question. It will take you 15 minutes to read the basics on the SA Admissions sites and poke around your MOC site.
Nothing wrong with asking questions, but be a self-starter and show the nascent self-reliant initiative expected of someone aspiring to serve as an officer.
Part of the "test" of getting a SA appointment is going to the primary sources and doing basic legwork yourself. It's a long, complicated road, and the accurate, current answers will come from your own investment in time and effort.
Posters here are usually endlessly patient, especially with the same questions asked every year - you've gotten good advice on where to find answers on the basics.

I appreciate it. My bad, I'll start looking into the websites.

No "bad" at all - just dive in. The SA Admissions sites address everything fairly comprehensively. You will be much smarter 15 minutes from now!

It's fine to ask questions, but don't repeatedly ask the same question after folks have answered it.
