DD has a presidential nomination on his USNA portal listed... does this mean he got it?
Also, what are chances for appointment with it?
He is waiting to see if senator and congressional nominate him tok..

Class of 2023 profile (last year) indicates 686 candidates received Presidential nominations at USNA. Your son will have to compete for one of the 100 available slots. Failing that, go into the NWL pool. It's a nomination though...

+1 @DAB42. Remember "Presidential Nominations" are granted to children of: 1. AD for 8+ years. . 2. Whose parent(s) dies while on AD or retired. 3. Are Active Reservists with 8yrs of service. And 4. Would be, or dies while they would be entitled to retired pay younger than 60 yrs old.

This encompasses a whole lot of children. 686 applicants to USNA alone last year, and only 100 of the children who get noms (all eligible who apply get the nom) get an appointment. Title 10 specifically states in that category "MAY BE APPOINTED" nothing requires 100 to be appointed.
