My Plebe can't seem to get specific information (Plebes don't "rate" being informed until the last minute) but has heard rumors that Plebes will be given an overnight on Saturday Feb. 19th after the Navy - Army basketball game that is mandatory for them to attend. Also, since they don't have class on Monday the 21st, perhaps there is a chance that they get two overnights (!!!). Anybody have some insight from previous years with your Plebes?

May depend upon outcome of game(s) ...some incentive, motivation to cheer loudly, often. I'd not be surprised to get some plebe liberty, maybe a leave night or even 2. But my guess is for the 'Dant to know and Plebes to learn later.

Obviously things differ from company to company and based on any obligations your mid has, but DS (also a plebe) has said that he has off from after the basketball game on Saturday until 1800 on Monday, for the President's Day weekend!

He also said that after their meeting with the CEO of GMC yesterday, that they now have been granted an overnight that they can use this weekend or next! Again this may differ.

Fishbowl - my DS (also a Plebe) called yesterday and shared the same information that mumsyto3 heard from her DS. My mid was quite certain that it has been granted to everyone, not on a company basis.

Overnight liberty this Saturday night, and 2 nights overnight liberty (Sat. & Sun.) on President's Day weekend, directly after the mandatory game.

I KNEW we were last class to have a real plebe year.

Plebe WEs -- what ARE they thinking?

Just kidding.

The Brigade Commander said as follows during noon meal announcements a week or two ago:
1) the game is mandatory for 4/c and 3/c class midshipmen, but they all get overnights that Saturday night and Sunday night, and have to be back on Sunday at 1800
2) the game is not mandatory for 1/c and 2/c, but if they don't go then they don't get the uncharged weekend

Wouldn't that be Monday at 1800 if Sat and Sun are overnights?

USNA1985, I echo....we only had one weekend during the spring semester and it was for beating Army (football) the previous semester.

Putting the kidding aside....where is the "leadership by example" for 1/C and 2/C? There are plenty of other non-busy weekends in the spring semester and it is a problem to make one Saturday (which happens to be in a long weekend) mandatory -- for an Army/Navy game?!?!

Oops, yes I meant Monday at 1800. Entirely used to two day weekends.

Presidents day weekend

DS told us they do have from after the game Sat off til Monday at 1800. They can get parents tickets to the game for like $8.00 each. Finally we get to be there for a precious over night.

DS confirmed this with us last nite. He is beyond excited, because GF already had plans to visit that weekend!
