Presidents Volunteer Service Award

Yes, I have. I was nominated through my school...it was a while ago though, so I'm not sure if the process has changed.

Yes, my son has won 2 Bronze awards. And he is now 5 hours short of the silver award for this year. Bronze award is 100 hours in a calendar year. Silver is 175 hours and I think the gold award is 250 hours. Your service organization (or school, church) must sponsor the award. Someone in the organization must be trained and is to verify all hours inputted by the person performing the service (the volunteer). The volunteer must also register. Each different day of service must be inputted individually. So it can be very tedious to input an entire year of service if you don't keep up. You get a certificate and a pin which must be paid for by the sponsoring organization.

Yes my school inputs my hours that I submit to the school. I won bronze freshman year, silver sophomore year, and gold last year:)

Yes, my daughter earned the 2015 Gold President's Volunteer Service Award for over 300 hours of community service. I think she's over 400 hours volunteered now....something she really likes to do!
