Just got word that my nomination from my congressman, was a "primary" nomination. Is this the same thing as a principal nomination? I've heard that folks who get that nom have a slot opened for them as long as they are qualified. Does that now apply to me?? Additionally, I have a nomination from my Senator. This helps me having 2, correct?
I'd also like to PM somebody with some admissions experience about some questions of an academic nature that I'd rather not publicly post.

Thanks everyone!

From reading posts last year, I think some congressional staff confound the word "primary" with "principal." To my knowledge, the categories of nomination are only primary, ranked alternate, or competitive. Though, without knowing exactly how your MOC submitted their slate, there's only one way to determine what kind of nomination was received by USMA - call or email your RC. In my experience, the RC will tell you where you are on a slate. If your nomination was submitted as "principal," the RC will tell you so.

If you are the principal and are 3Q'd, it's about time to change your username.

From what I've learned from my FFR, having two nominations does not weigh more than if you have only one. The fact that you have a principal or "primary" nomination is fantastic, and in fact, that will help your application more than a regular senatorial nomination.
