My DS got a phone call from MOC that he is a principal nominee but he was medically disqualified after. He submitted additional medical informations requested for waiver and just waiting for a decision. I read that the SA will offer an appointment if the candidate is fully qualified for principal nominee. What is this fully qualified mean? Dose he lose his principal nomination because he got medically DQ initially or he will get an appointment as long as his waiver get granted? He is physically qualified and his grades and EC's are good with class rank within top 5 % and over 1400 SAT.

Fully qualified is academically, medically (DoDMERB qualified or any DQ waivered), physically qualified (CFA passed). Fully qualified + principal nom usually equals an offer of appointment. He cannot lose his principal nomination. It’s a matter of waiting to see if he is found fully qualified. If he is not, he will not be offered an appointment, no matter the type of nomination. With a principal nom, he has a near-guaranteed shot if everything else gets unchecked. Good luck!
