Principal Nomination

Well, here's hoping. My DS has PN from MOC that USNA received 1/26/17. I was REALLY hoping to hear something last week, but nothing yet. "Complete Pending Review" are getting to be my 3 least liked words! My DS (bless his heart) remains calm, cool and collected and when I say "HOW???" he responds, "Well, Mom, that's why I'm going to be an Officer!"
Given where the academy is at in the admissions process, I would expect his appointment will be handled along with all the other appointments for the competitive slates. It doesn't make sense to me that they would do a special effort for a principal nominee at this point in time. I would think he would end up in the first big batch of appointments which I would expect sometime in February. JMPO.

Yesterday our DS (P-Nom No LOA) was notified at school with a call from his Congressman of his appointment to West Point!
DW and I were fortunate to be witness of the event and share the joy.
It seems like the wait was forever! While we waited longer than some, we still waited much less than most people for the good news. Stay strong everyone, and best of luck to all of the hopefuls!

Congrats and best of luck to you and yours. It is just the beginning of a great ride.

I received a MOC nomination for all 3 academies. I heard that there are very few candidate nomination request in my district. Actually I received 2 from my congressman for my USMA application. What does it mean for me if my district rarely has nomination requests?

This is one of many factors that are out of your direct control that you should not spend any time worrying about. You've submitted your applications so focus on enjoying your senior year while you wait to hear back from each of the academies and plan b/c/d options.

Not much. Other than it might be easier for you to receive a nomination. Otherwise, no real bearing on your chances of appointment. You still need to stand on your own merits.
