Quick question, how long does it usually take for principal nominees to hear back from admissions? Is it the same for all applicants or do they get notified earlier?

I had received a principal nom towards the end of November and was appointed at the end of December. That's just my experience and it may be different for each person. Good luck, hope you hear back soon!

Thank you! I hope it will be like that for me too!

Still need to be 3Q which can vary for some based on needing medical waivers, etc. Having a principal NOM means you don't have to compete in the national pool, but how quickly you become 3Q can vary based on the specifics of each candidate.

.... and there is also the admissions workload to consider. They may not get to it as fast as you like, especially since we are quickly approaching the early appointments season.

Thank you for your response. What exactly do you mean by the early appointments season? Does this mean the people with a LOA?

Last year, son received Prin nom Jan 4, got LOA few days after (had to do body mass index text) then heard back within a week after submitting test. You will hear back very soon! Congrats

Thank you for your response! Do you remember the exact date that he received his appointment after receiving the prin nom and submitting the test?

1. Quit worrying when you will get your appointment. It won't make it happen any quicker and is a waste of time and energy.
2. Based on past experience, some appointments start rolling out in late January. Those whose MOC has submitted their slate, are fully qualified, and are the clear slate winner regardless of what others might submit by the application deadline, may hear in January. Most will hear late Feb and March. Of course, all depends on time and resources admissions has available.

It's an exciting & anxious time:) You will get appointment on your portal very soon, prob within 2 weeks, from my understanding admissions want to accept outstanding candidates as soon as possible so they don't lose students to other elite colleges?
