I just finished my application, just got back from a sub deployment and I noticed my package said complete pending review I might go out to sea again how will the Naval academy contact me when im deployed about if I got accepted or not? also, how many prior enlisted usually apply a year I was the only one in Guam that did?

Contact (call, email) the chief in Admissions who handles Fleet applicants, let him or her know what's going on. The Navy can figure out how to get good news to a sailor while deployed.

Also, you will have till May 1 to accept your appointment.

Historically, the number of qualified enlisted applicants are much less than the allowed quota for this path. The Fleet Liaison (the Chief in admissions) knows the number of applicants from an area, not sure if he could share that with you or not.

The title of this thread says "prior submariner": I like the confidence you have, and it sounds like you are already qualified. I will be looking for the Plebe with silver dolphins on his chest next year!

Best of luck!

thanks I will probably be the only one with silver dolphins there... well, chief bland emailed me saying more than likely ill be going to NAPS this year, I was just wondering how long does it take to find out offically

You could find out anytime between now and April. Fleet applicants are looked at in a different way than others. The Chief is your best person to keep in contact with as he has the direct source info. The good news is you are NAPS eligible and USNA has that option. It's a great option and is a great year for someone who hasn't been in a tradional school setting for a few years. It's not unusual to have a few guys with dolphins at USNA. There are never a lot, but always handful. I had a SEAL with a Trident many years ago. I also had a recon radio operator. When we had full combat operations there were a few Mids with Purple Hearts. It's always interesting to hear fleet applicant stories. Good luck!
