I have a question about the private oath option. I read that any active or retired member of the US military, in uniform, can have a special, private oath with the plebe. My son is interested in having his JROTC Colonel take part in this exercise with him. Is it OK that he is an Air Force Col? The literature I read did not specify that the person had to be in the USN.

Yes, it is okay. The branch of military service does not matter; just so it is a comissioned officer. Congrats to your son, and it is nice that he thinks so highly of his JROTC Col!

Does anyone know how we go about making that happen? Is there a procedure to follow for that to take place? How does that work?

Thanks for any info!

There should be a paper with information on it in your permit to report packets.
