Hi, I would like to use my private physician for my DODMERB as I heard/read that was an option. I have been assigned to a hospital that is 2 hours away and I live 15 min away from my local hospital, also I want to use my physician as she is aware of any of my medical concerns. How can I go about doing this? It is asking for my preferred zip code and the reason for a provider change. Does anybody know how I can get my specific provider? I hear others have done it. Thanks!

That is NOT correct for the initial exam.

Email me.

Good afternoon I am in the middle of DoDMERB examination processes and I had the same question as LoonWatch2027 and was told the same thing. May I email you about this? Thank you.

Mr Mullen has stepped away from the forum for a bit. More here:

I will let you know you can request to have your exam at a location closer to where you live. We live in Colorado Springs and my son attends school in Laramie WY. (ARROTC) They were able to move his exam to Laramie. I don’t think they allow your personal MD.

If you wish to confirm the option for you to see a personal physician to complete your DODMERB initial medical examinations, then please use the contacts in your DODMETS scheduling email or the official site details below to discuss directly.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call CIV Team at (215) 587-9600 or email CIV Team Staff at info@civteam.com.

Specifically I think asking if there is a closer location to complete these exams is reasonable/ cool. General guidance I'll share in case it may help for those families new to the military, though it may not apply here - as folks take first steps toward training to serve as an officer- when given instructions/ directions generally, a good path is to follow them, vs. pursuing a discussion requesting a tailored exception for your convenience.

DD is trying to schedule her physical for AFROTC. Question is similar. She originally got assigned a place near school, but went back in to try and get it near home to do over break. She called to ask if she should use them or her Dr. because it said that was an option. We are expecting a prior ortho surgery to be an issue, so I was going to ask if having her physical done by our network made more sense or better to go where they send her. But now I'm not clear on what the rule is.
