Problems with posting...

It does not occur every time, but sometimes when I post I get a message that says, "This message is awaiting moderator approval, and is invisible to normal visitors."

Does anyone know why this happens now and then. Hopefully I did not get in trouble or anything and I don't think I have broken any of the forum rules.
 
Usually it is not because of any rules violations.

The forum is capable of detecting phrases, key words and links likely to be spam. The system then stages the post to be reviewed by a moderator.

In most cases, it is approved and release pretty quickly.
 
If you post, then edit, then edit again fairly close together it will flag it. I don’t recall if it was two quick edits or three.
 
Happened/s to me too. It’s been a minute. I figured someone reported me or something and I was being monitored. Could still be the case I guess. Interesting to know!!
 
I was posting a private message and it said the same thing. Won’t let me post. What happens now?

I just deleted it and will try again.

You have to have 5 posts to have PM ability. Posting just to post to get to five is a no-no. Comment or contribute and you’ll be there in no time. Then, there may be a lag from when you hit your 5 to when the site updates permissions.

Must be something different -- 5yr member with 135posts contributing to the goal pursuits of others...
 
I post quite a bit and have been in a private conversation with this person. This last post just didn't work. I think because i tried to edit in preview mode.
 
I just reposted and this time it worked. Just cannot edit in preview mode.

I figured out what happened. I edited in preview mode and it was then flagged as improper. I deleted the whole thing and started over and it was fine.

I now know only edit once posted.
