I am a NROTC programmer going into my Sophomore year. I just finished NSI. I have a partial scholarship through my college not NROTC. Last semester I was taking 20 cr hrs and struggling with 2 classes. My university advisor recommended that I withdraw from those two classes at the last minute to preserve my GPA and maintain the scholarship given by the university since I still had greater then 12 hours. In my panic to resolve the situation I did not obtain prior approval to withdraw from the classes of the class withdraw. I received notice that I did not receive a NROTC scholarship for Sophomore year and I have to go in front of a review board to discuss my future in the program.
I ended the the semester with a 3.15 and completed 14 cr hrs. I did well at NSI and had no disciplinary action or issue my Freshman year other than this issue. My PRT scores are good.
How worried should I be that they will decide to release me from the program? I am stressing.

Just tell the story of what happened and explain what you are doing to correct the problem so it doesn't happen in the future. Not getting authority will be a issue, but if you admit to the mistake. Show remorse and what you are doing to correct the problem. Then you have a chance to stay in the program.
