Promotion girl or ROTC student?

goaliedad,
Thank you. I will reflect on what you have said.

All,
Don't think FOR me, don't imagine thoughts that I did not have and words that I did not say.

Then please try thinking for yourself, as that act has seemed keenly absent based on your conduct thus far on this forum.

--- I do, and I see the world in multiple colors, while you only see black and white.

I think black and white might just be easier here. I'm having a lot of trouble deciphering your sentences.

--- I'm not sure her wings should soar in this direction. And I don't think she has a dream to serve. And I don't want army recruiters to put this dream into her brain. I want her to live freely and decide what to do with her life without advice from army recruiters. Also, I don't want her to get into a pretty difficult moral dilemma if she will be placed in a position that will require acting against her native country where a part of her family and friends live. So you can be proud of you son, but it doesn't mean that other parents don't have rights to act as they wish.

I'm just a bit curious, what "Native Country" do you think the US will be acting against.

Your original question was answered politely, why your need to continue is puzzeling to say the least.

You seem so adamant to keep your daughter from Army recruiters but you allow her to participate in JROTC which is one of the earliest forms of recruitment.

I would never question your right to guide you own kid in any direction you seem fit. I do however see nothing constructive in you making disparaging comments on a board dedicated to those who wish to serve. To assume we as parents do not share your desire to see our children live because we support their decision you serve their country is an insult, and yes, that is how your comment comes across to everyone here.

My only comment to you is that while trying to be protective you are at the same time hypocritical in your actions. You state you want you daughter to be free to do what she wants in life and at the same time say you will do everything you can to stop her. You should understand, Tiger Moms don't fare well in this country, personal freedom wins out everytime in the end.

Take the answers you were given and be more concerned with how you will control your daughter instead of injecting your personal views for your own pleasure.

"CEASE FIRE, CEASE FIRE!" (Army/Navy Phrase)

"KNOCK IT OFF, KNOCK IT OFF!" (Air Force Phrase)

Sorry CG and MM types, not sure what you call...

BUT the point is the same. This is becoming a "he said, she said," and "...I didn't like this, don't like that, why did you..." type discussion which really isn't terribly valuable at this point, IMHO.

Can't we agree that we all have some opinions that differ? Some more passionate than others, but opinions which we are all free to have and espouse; even here, within reason.

This seems to me to be perilously close to personal attacking and I think the MOD for this forum might close it down very quickly if ya'll aren't a bit more considerate of each other.

Unless you're an Army aircraft, in which case we say "Switches cold."

Ahh...probably like our "noses cold" call to tankers and such.

Thanks!

Coast Guard also "ceases fire"....and sometimes "misfire" but not on purpose. I believe Merchant Marine says "please stop firing at us".
