I don't get on the site much any longer as my DS is now a full fledge plebe enjoying his time at USMMA. I felt compelled to just share my take as a parent. My DS was a recruited athlete but he was more than an average scholar. I found this site and learned a lot both positive and negative. Everyone has opinions and everyone's experience as a parent or as a DS/DD is going to be different but many times I felt some of the posts here were literally force feeding opinions on potential applicants. I had some nice people message me privately and give me some well heeded advice. My DS is an Engineering major and currently says he has had no issues with the classes other than them being fast paced. With football practice at 5am and then normal practice at 1600 he has a FULL day and I have had times where I don't hear from him for more than 48 hours. But it is the intermittent phone calls that make me know HE made the right decision for him. He LOVES KP and he plans to win some championships. To potential applicants and their parents KP is a great place. It is NOT easy by any means to get in and even stay in (120 medical chits during indoc), but it also is not impossible. You have to want it and you have to buy into the culture. I am probably the proudest KP parent at this moment. Every time my DS shoots me a pic (OMG he looks awesome in his summer whites) I break down in tears of pride and joy. IF you want this, GO for it and don't let anyone tell you that you can't achieve it. #Acta Non Verba

Thank you for your writing. I'm working on it. Hope I will get in and make my parents feel the same as yours.
Take it one step at a time. Work on each phase of the app. Control what you can (grades, scores, activities). Get your app into your congressman/congresswoman and representative early.
