PTR Packet

PTR=Permit to Report
After appointment is accepted, USNA will send out the PTR which contains a large stack of paperwork to complete prior to I-day. They were just sent out and folks are starting to receive them. Hope this helps...

DD received PTR last Friday, CA Central Valley.
Good luck to every one and God Bless you all!

I received mine Friday. I've talked with some of the others and there's a slightly noticeable pattern between how soon we received the PTR and how early our reporting time is.

Made it to the beautiful Northwest! I expected a bigger package. It was dirty and seriously ripped on two sides. Long journey. Hahaha

The best advice we saw on this same thread last year: When you fill out the SF 86 as part of your PTR package, keep not only paper copies, but also word/excel cut and pastes of the paragraph and list type answers stored in a safe location for future input. You will end up filling out this form several times across your career whenever you require a clearance and it very much helps to be able to cut/paste back.

Make and keep a copy of everything. Good luck and Fair Winds and Following Seas. Start your Album.

Good luck to her and you enjoy the ride. Have fun at I Day and then graduation (both can be very hot). Try to make at least one Navy-Army game. Go Navy,Beat Army and learn Navy Blue and Gold and Eternal Father. If you get a chance attend a service in the Chapel and be sure to visit the Museum.

Just left this advice on another thread regarding the PTR: "Speaking of the PTR package...some friendly advice. Make sure to make a copy of everything in that package and keep the package with you during I-Day. While your plebe will hand carry everything she needs as she walks through the Alumni Hall doors, I've read of more than one parent who received a call during the day for a copy of something that somehow got lost in the shuffle."
