For the pull ups in the CFA, are you allowed to put your legs over the bar to rest your arms a little? That would not be dismounting the bar.

USMA has videos of CFA elements on YouTube.

Do them as prescribed, in the “Army way.” You are required to return to the dead hang position to complete the repetition. No detours! You have to video push-ups and pull-ups/flexed arm hang for USMA, per specific instructions, and they are reviewed by staff. Counts can drop lower than what your CFA documented based on what they see. Applicants can be asked to re-do/re-video if the applicant’s video did not follow the instructions. Either you can do them as specified or you can’t. I’d invest any extra time on a pull-up bar in a home doorway, knocking out a few with good form every time you go by. Upping your count to a good score can be done if you commit to regular practice and good form early on.

I’ve always wanted a doorway pull up bar.

That would be a bad idea. While one arm may be 'resting', the other is now compensating by supporting the weight of the whole body. Also, no.
Yeah but quickly shaking out your arms one at a time helps get blood back and rejuvenates them a little. Darn.
