Does it take time for them to file your packets? All of mine are due the 24th and I planned on express mailing it tomorrow so that it got there by tuesday/wednesday. Should I have no worries about it not getting processed in time? Also, are you allowed to keep sending in new test scores for the upcoming october act and november sat?

I would assume that it says on their website/application, something along the lines of all packets must be in the office by X date or must have a postmark of X date. Use that as your guideline.

Traditionally that means anything after will not be in their files, including your ACTs.

I would recommend you call Tuesday and speak to a staff member to guarantee they do indeed have everything required. You never want to assume that they got it, nor that you didn't by accident forget to submit something.

As for how long it takes them to whittle down the files, it depends on how large the pool is for this year. DS had to submit to his Congressmen Sept 30th and did not hear that he got the nomination until Jan. 31st. There are others that hear back within a month.

Yes, it takes time!

As long as you send everything in, and can show the date it was sent, you're fine.

Scores...nomination dates for MOC's vary and they may/may not take later scores (they may have already given out their nom's) however the SA's will take them into January.

As an example, one Senator in GA had a September 19th deadline. Invites for interviews just started hitting the mailboxes late last week.

Although you cannot send in later scores, you certainly can bring them to the interview. When my DS interviewed, he brought an updated resume w/ things he'd accomplished since mailing in his packed, along with a copy of his LOA. DS #3 will bring in new SAT scores if they are further north of what he sent in back in September. If they don't want to see them, they'll say so...but it can't hurt to try. We were there w/ someone who had a formal resume and a head shot (8x10 glossy). You'll see a bit of everything. :biggrin:

An 8x10 head shot? :eek::shake:

I do agree if they are north of your current scores than bring them, and find an appropriate time to state on my resume you will notice that my scores are different, this is due to the fact that the application has my old scores, my resume has my new super score, thus, it is not a typo....my new score is indeed XYZA.
