I'm planning to fly out for a visit w/ son over spring break. The webpage says if they do the cadet escorted tour, you meet them back at 3:30. Then is it over? Do you meet w/ the admission rep before the tour? I'm trying to figure out if we can make it back to Denver for a flight home same day as tour. Thanks!

I recently did the tour. It is over at 3:30. You meet with an admission rep for the first 30- 45 mins of the tour. We were able to leave right a way, drive to Denver, and make a 7:30pm flight on the same day.

Sensitive to Time...

If you are on a tight schedule, be sure your DS is aware of the importance of being back by 3:30. My DD and her cadet host were well after 4:00 when they returned as they were having such a good time together. I wasn't trying to make a flight, so it didn't stress me out! Good luck to you! Safe travels.

mom,

DS and I did the trip over spring break last year. Great trip and really beautiful in CO. We added a ski day :thumb:

Thanks c1715; that's the flight I'm looking at...I guess if the tickets are still on sale today, am gonna press buy! So bizarre to be looking at AFA after so many years of Army everything.

mom3boys --

if your spring break is Mar 25-29, you need to be aware that is USAFA spring break this year -- so not sure if the tour will be different as there won't be many cadets around.

best of luck

I concur with c1715 as well. We visited the Academy this week and could have made the airport in 1 hour, 15" leaving @ 1530hours. However, the day was beautiful and the traffic was moderate with no accidents.

So, mom3boys, are you now planning a book for Air Force Mommies? ;)
