It might be a good time for your daughter to go back and re-read all the menu items on the DoDMERB home page. They are on the left-hand side: FAQs, the process, workflow diagrams. My daughter has completed all the elements of her USCGA application. Unfortunately she received 1 single medical DQ. Do we need to request for a medical waiver or will USCGA initiate one (based on the strength of her application)?
The Applicant Handbook explains our medical waiver process pretty well, but she can also always ask her Admissions Officer if she has questions. It might be a good time for your daughter to go back and re-read all the menu items on the DoDMERB home page. Keep in mind too, some DQs are never waivered, some are usually waivered, and some may receive waivers up to a certain cap. For example, USNA limits the number of color-vision deficiency waivers in each cycle. Each Service has its own waiver policy, because missions, gear and operating environments differ.
Good luck!
Even better. The Applicant Handbook explains our medical waiver process pretty well, but she can also always ask her Admissions Officer if she has questions.
