I'm currently a permanent resident and will be able to apply for citizenship in late December. However, a requirement for applying is that you must be an American citizen. I am aware that the process takes upwards of a year to complete and usually will take at least 6 months. Is it possible for me to apply after applying but not yet being a citizen? Thanks

Yes you can still submit an application. As far as the citizenship issue, you can cross that bridge when you come it. However, still continue to work hard and move forward with your plans. Good Luck

So just to make sure, I can apply despite not being a citizen yet?
