A couple weeks back, I got an email from the DoDMERB helpdesk saying "Your DoDMERB medical status has been updated or changed and a letter has been generated." I checked and read the letter online, and it told me I was qualified! I am more than elated, but I read somewhere that a letter would be sent home, but I never got one. Should I be concerned?

My son was notified today by email that he is getting a waiver but it said that the formal notification could take 10-14 days due to the holiday.

My DS initially found a notification online that DoDMERB was requesting a questionnaire about a childhood diagnosis and a letter had been sent, but we never received a letter in the mail. A few weeks after sending in the questionnaire there was an online notification that his status had changed and he was qualified and a letter had been generated. This was a opulence months ago and we never received a physical letter. He is content that it is all okay since the web status shows qualified.

My DS status changed to "medical waiver granted" a few days ago. I assume we will get an official letter in the mail since the NROTC unit at Virginia Tech has asked for it.

How long did it take to get these waivers once the remedial information had been submitted?

Usually, you can get a copy of the letter from the DODMERB website. DD had a follow-up and we didn't know it for several weeks. Once we completed it, I checked the site often for clearance. When it was issued, I could print it from the site. It seems their mail only goes out monthly. [emoji4]

Thank you; that may be helpful if he needs a physical copy in the future. For now my DS is content that the online status is sufficient and his battalion did not ask for a copy of the letter with the documents he was required to submit. In all honesty, it would make me feel better to actually see a hard copy of the letter, but he if satisfied with what he has and I have to let this be his journey. He's done well so far.
