Can anyone tell me how long it takes to receive official appointment after your status goes to Qualified? TIA

From one day to never. About 50% of those who are deemed qualified will not receive an appointment.

You will probably know either way by late April/1May but then things change even after that. It is a long stretch. Every week people will be receiving BFEs. Keep faith.

I actually should add that everything else has been done, nomination given, LOA, everything in my portal has been checked off and complete, the Superintendent has granted me a waiver, USMA status is qualified, DODMERB status is waiver granted, and Congressman has confirmed the appointment. I guess I’m really just asking how long it takes from that point to receive the BFE (big fat evvelope) containing the actual appointment in the mail? Or is there the possibility of something else slowing down the process?

BFEs are sent in the regular postal system on Fridays.

Yeah, you might want to lead with that.

Yeah, sorry about that. I was under the assumption that once your status went to qualified that meant the appointment had been granted, because it was in requested waiver status for a long time. Then when I startled reading these answers I realized that my assumption must have been incorrect. So another assumption on my part... since I was told I was given an appointment this week it would be sent out tomorrow (Friday) as stated in the above post?

Not if the government shuts down at midnight tonight. If that happens you are in a holding pattern unless they sent this batch out today anticipating the shutdown.

If your Congressman confirmed your appointment the BFE should be a week or so. Congratulations!
Thank you, but I will not believe it until I see it because of all that I’ve been through.... was given LOA last year (2017), then injured my back but assured that a waiver would be granted, back and forth drs and notes and exams over and over and asssurances then on the last day denied! Then told if I had surgery and was fit again 6 mos later they would grant the waiver for 2018. Had to start all over again from congressional interviews, essays, CFA, everything from start to finish again, but thank God it worked out this time! But not yet counting my eggs till I see the BFE (we’ll actually, not counting my eggs until BEAST).

DS portal changes to qualified on Tuesday 1/23, MOC call on Thursday 1/25, appointment on portal showed up on Friday 1/26 aand BFE showed up on Thursday the following week. The wait seemed like forever but it was well worth it! Hang in there!

Bubble.wrap.
Wear it from now until you walk through the gates of Thayer!

Thanks, mine is not following exactly along those timelines...

Will someone tell me how their BFE was delivered, USPS? I read on USMMA that their BFE was delivered by FedEx hours after their status updated to fully qualified.
