I know that no case is typical, but perhaps my story can be of assistance to somebody in the future.
3 years ago, my Freshman year of high school, I tore my ACL and had ACL reconstruction surgery. Since then, I have played 3 years of football, and wrestled for 3 years as well. We assumed I would probably get remedial simply due to the fact that I did have surgery.
Sure enough, we checked my portal and it read "remedial." I contacted my point of contact at my soon-to-be university, and he told me to expect a letter in the mail explaining everything that I would need to send in. Surprisingly, we checked the portal again a few hours later (I'm not sure why) and this time it read "Qualified." Needless to say we were slightly confused, but mostly excited. It will sure be nice not to have to go through a long, drawn-out process to get qualified.
I hope this was helpful to somebody who may have had a similar injury or experience.
