Hello!

My congressional board interviews are tomorrow, and I was wondering if they have access to my file/have read my personal statements? In my personal statements, I talked about some things that affected my academic performance in school (eg friend's passing), and I am nervous that it will be brought up tomorrow. I know this is a silly thing to worry about, but I was curious as to whether or not the board members have had access to my personal statements.

Thank you,

They only have access to what you submitted to their office. Nothing more, nothing less.

I have my nom interview tomorrow, as well. As WP2017 said, they only have what you submitted them. Best of luck!

As someone who received a principal nomination, I am going to try and give you some advice. Be cool, no matter how cleche that is. They hate when you go in, sit down, and say "yes, sir" over and over. Answer honestly, and most importantly, confidently. You control the tone of the interview. Again, be confident and truthful and you'll do fine.

In my humble opinion of course. Good luck!

This is exactly how I approached my interview and I felt that it went really well. Relax and be real.

One of my Senator's boards did actually have access to our Application files because one of the people on the board was an FFR (field force rep), otherwise however there is no way for them to access your candidate file.

Thank you!

Thank you so, so, so much to everyone who replied to this thread. My interview begins in >2 hours. The interview that just about decides the next 10 years of my life haha. Good luck to everyone!

FFR do not have access to the file documents, just a summary. For example, they can see if you have completed everything, but can't read the essay or see specifically what your teachers reported on the SOE.

There is a log-in for the Congressional staffs off the Admissions page, just like for FFRs. Not sure if we see the same thing. We can't access the candidate essay so doubtful that the Congressional staff can too.

How did your interview go?

Alright :/

Interview was okay, could have definitely gone better, but they were very impressed with my file. Very intimidating to be in a 3 vs 1 setting! Hope yours was much better!
