Question about communication with USMA

I was wondering if it is odd to have no communication with the USMA during the application process? My DS has followed the application process and everything on his portal is green (minus 7th semester grades which are on the way) and he has received a principle nomination from our congressman. He has reached out to his FFR a couple of times early in the process, but did not get a response. My question would be, is it normal to not hear anything from anyone during the whole application process?

I'm principal like your DS and I haven't heard anything from anyone (other than MOC) unless I reached out to them first. Pretty sure it's normal so I wouldn't stress it

The deafening silence is not unique to USMA and "communication" is a relative term as it applies here.

"Everything on his portal is green" is communication, "confirmation of nomination" is communication. If they want or need something, they'll let you know. In the absence of that, and as nail biting as it can be, you can only let the process play itself out as his package is prepared for review and decision. As much as everyone would like a weekly updated as to where things stand, it just doesn't work that way.
This is the time of year more than any other that really does "try the soul" or as Yoda once said "Patience...learn you must".
