Question about designations

It's under User CP -> Edit Profile -> Optional Information -> Custom user Title

I might just be overlooking this, but the only options I have on that area is My URL and Messaging, I can't find Custom User Title...

It's under User CP -> Edit Profile -> Optional Information -> Custom user Title

No such option exists for us "regular" members.

However, you can change that in your vBulletin Admin control panel (under user title manger/add new user title)

go to the user control panel - scroll down - on the left it will say "Miscellaneous" on the bottom. under that is "group memberships" click on that and you can join a group.

Sadly none of the groups apply to me. I'm not retired, but even if I was, Coast Guard (RET) isn't an option. I'm not a parent, cadet/midshipman, or applicant.
