Question about Enlisted Applicants

I am currently enlisted in the military, and have a question about applying.
I have worked hard to submit a quality application. Additionally, I have congressional nominations, and support from my chain of command to attend a service academy.
I understand that the military has no obligation to release me from my enlisted contract to go to a service academy. But my understanding is that I am allowed to have conditional release with approval from my chain of command.

So I ran into an issue. I got an email from USMMA saying that "even if I receive an offer, the Navy is under no obligation to release me."
To me, this seems obvious. I understand. I have a conditional release lined up in the even that I receive an appointment.
(Taken form the website)
Important: Enlisted service members must request a conditional release via their chain of command as soon as they decide to start the application.

So why did I receive such an email? Is this implying I a m not competitive? Or that because I am enlisted in the military, that USMMA may be less inclined to give me an appointment because they do not believe that I will be released from my contract?
How should I respond?

Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated.

You seem to be in great shape, and are clearly an organized person. There are those who are not as thorough as you when it comes to researching the primary source at USMMA.edu and extracting key action items and dates. I recall a poster with whom I swapped some PMs, and based on some of the comments, it was obvious the poster was unaware of some steps. I had to point out the conditional release requirement, fairly far down the road.

My take is that USMMA is simply being thorough on their end, to ensure no “oops” at the last minute, should they desire to offer you an appointment.

Was the conditional release a part of your application packet?

If not, simply reply and include the conditional release.
If it was, reply and cordially state thank you for the reminder, I have already obtained the required conditional release which I included in my package but for the sake of good order please see attached an additional copy for your records should you need it.

Also consider that it may be an automated response.
