Hello, my son received word that he was awarded a 4 year NROTC Marine option scholarship. My question is when will they verify he is medically qualified? He was found medically qualified via DODMERB in early October for the Naval Academy so I suspect the same determination will be for NROTC scholarship. I am just curious as to when they will request it.

I addressed this privately today. I notified NROTC that we had NOT been notified yet that the son was a valid applicant for NROTC (USMC option) I then contacted NROTC to let them know that it my be a delay due to CNRC, MCRC, and/or the processing of the boards. The senior officer in charge was going to look into the matter. This particular applicant will be medically qualified once we receive his name from NROTC and process the action at DoDMERB
