In the VP Nomination application, it has you pick the service academies you would like to attend, and it says you can pick more than one. However, should I click all three (USMA, USNA, USAFA) and write an essay that applies to all service academies or should I only click my first choice (USMA) and write about that? Thanks.

If you plan to apply to all three SAs, then you should apply for the VP nom for each. The reason is that each SA selects the person(s) who get the VP nom for their academy -- IOW, if you get one for USMA you could in theory still get one for USAFA as well. Obviously, you should only apply for the VP nom for SAs to which you're applying.

In terms of the essay . . . it depends on the question (must confess I don't know what it is). If the question is a general one that would apply across all SAs, then one essay is sufficient as the SAs won't be comparing notes. However, if you would give a different answer depending on the SA, then separate essays would be appropriate.

The prompt asks, "Why do you want to attend one of the military service academies?" Thanks for the info. I did not know that the SAs selected the VP nominees and not the VP's staff. I will make the essay applicable to all the academies.
