Question: Anyone else feel this way?

LOL at the last part... pulling at the heart strings for the first part of your comments... I can relate to anticipation from my son... and then with everything going on - the realization that the traditions may be missed now. I don't think he truly took stock of those events until they started to get questioned as to whether they will actually take place... Interesting times for all...
That's just it. I don't think any of us realized what we might miss. Our school does a 'cap and gown parade'. It is by far my favorite day of the school year. Our K-12 is on one campus, but separated by green zones of landscaping. The senior class gets in cap and gowns, takes the class portrait and then lines up in the gym. The whole town, and k-12 line the sidewalk and the fire lane through the campus. The band leads them out and the class walks the whole campus. Teachers hug them, little kids high five them and hold up signs. To see the seniors hug their primary teachers always gets the tears flowing. Custodians, bus drivers, office staff, para pros, landscape guys, coaches, you name it, they are all there.

It reminds the seniors who are on the bubble to finish strong. It shows freshmen what to look forward to. The littles think the seniors are the best thing since sliced bread. It gives the staff and teachers just rewards for having pushed and prodded and supported for 12 years. I don't think he was expecting to enjoy it. Now he and I both just hope it happens. I love it, even more than graduation.

Thanks @Heatherg21... now I am crying! AGAIN... :)

I was able to watch a movie with my DS for the first time in a long time. Pulp Fiction. He's 18 now so I figured it was fine. He looked totally confused when Maynerd pulled the gimp out of the box. Hilarious.

Justme it may take a while but it will happen again. This last Christmas was the first time we had all three home in five years. SIL is deployed so we had oldest DD and one-year-old grandson, DS was home from his USNS rotation and youngest DD has always been here but probably not for long. It was the best Christmas in a long time. Enjoy the moments and take lots of pictures.

Love this!! Such a great tradition! Praying you and your son will get to experience it. These are the memories that will be lost.

I have class of 2020 at CGA. Billet night was exciting. DS1 got Hawaii. Then head to Spring Break with all his BFF. Our planned was I will come see him on his birthday then 25 days to graduation. He flew home instead and he is home since. He is sad that March 29 back to school was cancelled today. Online schooling, the Commencement, watch his best friend senior game, the company picture. So many traditions look like will not happen this year including The graduation! Yes he is learning to cook to get ready for Hawaii in June. Still working out everyday because he is eating lots everyday too! DS2 is home too and received his appointment today. I am still going to parents weekend and will experience the 2024 Commencement! He will start online classes this week but so ready to start his academy journey! I’m enjoying their company, loving every minute. I know they are ready to experience the next chapter of their lives.

Very similar to frames that we bought last month
And they also shared the plans if you wanted to make your if u have a 3d printer.

I was excited to hear my little brother made it to the USNA and to sending him off on I-day, but my parents asked that I and my siblings stay away as to not possibly get my brother sick before plebe summer. I then found these to represent him from thousands of miles away.

Class of 2024! USNA

On the mask front, I have been making masks non-stop for the hospital across from our community and other first responders. I sent a box of 40 to our son for his BOLC unit at Ft. Gordon. (I made them out of camo fabric so no one can tell they're wearing masks. ;) ) Even though they're completing BOLC at home/online right now, his class had to report for a formation last week, and they all showed up with the camo masks. They got props for showing up "in uniform."
