Question on LOA

After receiving an LOA about a month ago, I am waiting to receive a waiver in order to become fully accepted. I heard that April 15th is like the notification date, so if I don’t secure a waiver by then is my LOA gone or will they review for a waiver and send out an acceptance packet later in the month? I would think it’s the latter, but I’m not sure.

If you are only waiting on medical clearance, you need only clear by I-Day (well, probably a week or so before). With an LOA, you essentially have an appointment, so you have a decision. The issue is whether you clear medical. Because that sometimes doesn't happen, you should be pursuing Plan B.

Best of luck with your waiver! If you don’t mind, I am curious what state/district are you in?

It was reported in Shipmate (USNA Alumni magazine) by the Oregon Chapter that all appointments went to those along I-5 corridor last year. Looks like that is about to change this year. Follow up on your waiver!!! Best of luck to you, USNARLY!

The waiver being granted is not dependent upon the April 15th date.
After the waiver is granted, your status should change from "Conditional Offer of Appointment LOA" to "Fully Qualified Offer of Appointment" with a link to "Accept Appointment".
(As long as the waiver is the only condition of your LOA)
