Questions About Hair During CBT Field Training

Hello all! I have a few questions regarding my hair during CBT. I have long, thin-ish hair that fits easily into a bun, but can also get frizzy sometimes so I use hair spray a lot. I'm planning on bringing bobby pins, however, I'm wondering if I need hair spray or gel. I have seen a few threads where people recommend it, but others where they don't because of the smell which attracts bugs. Does anyone have an opinion on whether gel/spray is needed, and if so, what would be a good brand to use that doesn't smell? Thank you in advance for your help.

Honestly, your sweat is going to act as your hair gel. Don’t worry about bringing any, it’s just more weight you’ll have to carry (ounces = pounds, pounds = pain) Everyone looks gross during summer training, so don’t get caught up on hair. just make sure you are able to pull it back quickly and somewhat nicely so that it stays out of your way. Best of luck! -female cow

Sweat and water from your Camelbak are definitely sufficient, but if you want you can bring a small tube for A-Day (just don't bring it to Buckner, though I don't believe CO '24 is going for more than just an FTX anyways).

Bring gel or hair spray for in garrison if your hair is frizzy. Most guys won’t correct a woman’s hair but your female cadre will definitely make sure you are holding the standard as you are representing them as well.

Field days wouldn’t worry about it. Sweat and wearing a hat all day will help you plus being super tired and dirty, uniform standards don’t go away but there’s more understanding for conditions.
