Hi, as I-day is this Thursday, I had a few questions regarding how to get prescription refills throughout the summer since my prescription does not last for all 6 weeks--should I get all refills now and bring them with me, or can someone mail them to me?

Also, I bought plenty of underwear and spandex per previous mids' advice to me--will I be actually allow to bring them with me and what should I do in terms of bringing toiletries?

Thank you so much.

Once you inprocess day after tomorrow, you belong to the Navy. They'll take care of prescribing your meds and making sure the scrip gets filled from here on out. Bring your current meds in the labeled prescription bottle, and they'll pick it up from there.

The extra underwear, frankly, may sit in storage all summer - there seems to be no consistent year-to-year pattern whether it's allowed or goes into storage. The Navy will issue you literally everything you need - google "USNA budget book" if you want an idea just how comprehensive that list of STUFF is!

Regardless: don't sweat it. Bring what you were going to bring, then go with the flow. If you get to have it, great! (You'll be lugging it around, though.) Another alternative is for you or your parents to tuck it into a large flat-rate Priority Mail box as your first "care" package.

Welcome to the grand adventure!

If you bring extra items like compression shorts, socks, tshirts and underwear and they get locked up before you get a chance to retrieve them, just ask. I know in a few days that is the last thing you will want to do. You will write a thought of the day every night make a note of it to your squad leader that you have regulation items such as compression shorts you would like to get. They should let you get to them. Also if you run out of meds or nearing it without a prescription make a note this way and your squad leader will ensure it gets done. It's their job too!
