Updates will most likely take place on Saturday. His portal has not been updated yet.
What does this mean? It's happening! Portal updated...DS offered Prep School
No. Admissions is releasing results in clusters through a rolling admissions system. Are they releasing alphabetical order?
This means that the son was rejected for this cycle however in the same letter was given the opportunity to go to the usafa prep school. Where for 10 months he'll train and study to go in with the next class. Oh and he'll get paid as a enlisted member. It's an amazing opportunity for anyone who receives it.What does this mean?
Second that @FlyFalconWhat does this mean?
No, USAFA will initiate it whenever they see you as “competitive” no one really knows what the means other than the obvious fact that you have potential to become a cadet. I received my medical waiver without ever getting an LOA.@LTBob87 how did you receive a medical waiver before you were considered competitive. Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t you need an LOA before your DoDMERB file is forwarded to the USAFA waiver authorities?
House is in session until at least 3pm today right?
Congratulations to your son! If that was my son, he'll accept in one second! It's happening! Portal updated...DS offered Prep School
This is how USNA is doing waivers this year but doesn't apply to USAFA or USMA.@LTBob87 how did you receive a medical waiver before you were considered competitive. Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t you need an LOA before your DoDMERB file is forwarded to the USAFA waiver authorities?
Not sure of USAFA process, but what I am seeing from the self-report thread, there are not many LOA's listed. We ran numbers from a scoring site that mirrors the "highly competitive" nature of my DS' application. He got an LOA from USMA in Sep '21 and our thoughts run to the attitude that if West Point wanted him that much, then he should be competitive for USAFA. He has a USMA appointment in hand but is waiting on USAFA for any final decisions. This is how USNA is doing waivers this year but doesn't apply to USAFA or USMA.
Does the prep school guarantee admittance with the next class or do you have to go through the application process again? This means that the son was rejected for this cycle however in the same letter was given the opportunity to go to the usafa prep school. You have to reapply, but I’m pretty sure it’s a slightly seperate process, and if you just do your best and do well at USAFSPS it’s a virtually guaranteed spot. Not actually guaranteed spotDoes the prep school guarantee admittance with the next class or do you have to go through the application process again?
