Hi all, I just wanted to alert you all to something before you have a heart attack!
Today, I received a thin, white envelope from USNA. I immediately, without opening it, just stared at it and thought to myself "No! No! How could this happen? I thought I was 3q'd! What?! How?!!" My grandpa came upstairs and asked me why I had such a worried look on my face, so I handed him the envelope. He opened it, read it, and said "I don't see the problem here..."
I looked at the letter, and it turns out that they were just notifying me that they have received my request for a VP nom. Whew! So yeah, if you get a TWE, make sure you open it before you start freaking out. Apparently there's more than one kind of TWE; I was not aware of that until today.
Crisis averted! Haha.

Received the same letter. I am not sure what the purpose of the letter is. Did you receive a nomination from any other sources?

I think it's just to let us know that they will be reviewing all the candidates for a nomination soon...Like how your MOCs sent you a "We'll be interviewing you on this day at this time" email, but since the Academies don't interview for VP noms (I'm assuming) this was just so we know we weren't forgotten. I received a nomination from my Rep, so I most likely will not get the VP nomination.

So that would mean they sent that letter to everyone who applied for a VP nom. Just seems kind of strange. The letter seems to be stating the obvious and seems like no need to send it to everyone.

Yeah I got mine but I already have my BFE. I think VP nom results come out in march.

jebdad: I agree, but it's nice to get a confirmation letter, rather than have the thought of "I wonder if they ever reviewed me for that..." lingering in the back of your mind. The biggest failure in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.

usna.hopeful19: Congratulations!! Hopefully I'll be seeing you on I-Day :)

Read this thread yesterday. The letter came today and I completely forgot and freaked out.

LOL! I don't think any amount of "preparation" will get rid of that half-weightless, half-nauseated sensation I feel whenever a new letter arrives :yllol:.

DS got his Friday. Mom was scared to open it, but i told her it was probably just the VP nom letter and not to worry.
Sure enough!

Every day of this process I am thankful for this forum and what we all share here. It makes the journey easier knowing there are so many good folks around.

Yep, DS got his yesterday, too, even though he already has the BFE. It seems like they should simply have a notification of this on the portal or send an email to save money. At least it allows the kids to know that it has been received, instead of wondering if they had gotten the request or not.
