Looking for some clarification about the AFA deadline. DS is applying for the 4yr NROTC scholarship, and his application has been submitted. In the Fall he was told the AFA had to be with it for it to be complete but for medical reasons unfortunately he had to put the AFA off until this month. We completely understand this puts him at a disadvantage for the board cycle but life happens. Now the petty officer helping has led him to believe the AFA score counts as a supporting document and is due 15 Feb, not 31 Jan - the application deadline. We as parents say be safe and get it in by 31 Jan but you know, teenagers know all the things. He has his reasons for wanting as much time as possible to improve scores because he's been really limited in the time he was allowed to work on the run (medical restrictions, now cleared) but we know, really, how much can they improve in two weeks. (ETA - his times are in the passing zone, he just wants them better.) Please someone with insider knowledge help us parents, since we clearly don't know "all the things" lol. Seems like a large risk to take....
