Does SATO book flights only into Newark?

With Rday date change, we have to cancel our original flights and now want to have SATO book my DS travel.

Under normal conditions, they could book into any airport. You will probably have to get info directly from them or USMA to see if there are any changes to that.

Newark is the easiest of the three NYC area airports to get to West Point.

Correct = Newark is the easiest of the three NYC area airports to get to West Point.

Stewart will be too expensive for SATO to book and WP to pay for. :wiggle:

For future reference, Stewart (SWF) and White Plains (HPN) are options if you are in the eastern half of the country - very convenient to West Point. JetBlue and American fly into both. Right now I don't think there are any flights into either airport.

From the west coast I have never found a flight schedule that works better than a non-stop to Newark.

Delta also flys into those but usually an added layover in Detroit or Atlanta. Right now so few flights is the biggest problem.

If you don't have a ride/ground transportation LGA can be easier than EWR . Depending on the time of year, ferry to Garrison: Metro North to Harlem/125th Street; M-60 to LGA.
Uber and Lyft are still spotty around West Point.

How do you check to see if buses will be running from WP from the airports to WP for Rday?

This is part of SERE school. You are expected to E&E from the airport to West Point. It's a pass/fail event. If you make it to the gate in time for R-Day you're in. If not...
Seriously, you should be given transportation instructions from the airport to West Point and, if necessary, lodging at the airport. Usually there are buses just for new Cadets arriving.
If for some reason this is not provided reach out for help.

Thanks- LIke many others we have cancelled our previous reservations to drop off ds and waiting for the new logistics. Thinking we will send ds on his own if the other pieces are in place to get him from airport to WP. I am assuming the travel information (lodging, buses, etc) will come out when they send ds his arrival date and time.

Are Buckner and March back canceled this year?
As of now, a modified CFT and CBT are planned. The details are still being worked out but everything seems to be delayed/compressed a few weeks. The march back is still on the training schedule but I doubt old grads will be able to attend this year.
