Can someone please tell me about the Rabble Rousers?

What are the try-out requirements? Do you have to know how to tumble? If so, to what extent?
Is it a problem if you can only do simple tumbling like cartwheels, etc. ?

How many cheerleaders do they choose? Is there a certain amount for each grade level?

If it's possible, can someone give me an overview of the try-outs and maybe a rubric they go by?

Please and thank you.
Go Army!

There is a short video on this webpage that shows some of what the RRs do. I know they tumble and do a lot of acrobatic things at the football games as well as leading the cheers. http://www.goarmysports.com/ot/rabble-rousers.html

Work hard on having top grades in high school and playing a sport(s), hopefully at the varsity level, in order to apply to West Point. You need excellent scores on the ACT or SAT to get into West Point so there is much to be done! I know you mentioned before that you have juvenile epilepsy so that could be an issue but best of luck nevertheless! :thumb:

Thanks. In my recent post, it sounded as if my epilepsy is terrible. It's not at all.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, I've only had 1 seizure and it was NOT a grand mal. It was a myoclonic. I didn't pass out or anything.

To be honest, I'm not really sure why they diagnosed me. I have no other problems. I know it could be a stump in the road to making my dream come real by going to West Point, but I am willing to risk it.

I have faith that all will be well. I know I may not be accepted (IF I am) because of the epilepsy, but I am still going to press on and go towards my dream.

That's a great attitude! Set your goals and work hard toward them! Good luck!

I was wondering how the rabble rousers are chosen from the plebes. What kind of talents do they need or gymnastic skills are required. Is there some special tumbling they need to do during tryouts. I was just curious on the criteria they are looking for in a rabble rouser.

Hi everyone,
Jackie here.
I'm a plebe and have friends who tried out and made the team.
Basically, all throughout beast you have company athletics. During that time you go to the rabble rousers tryouts: learn routines, get tested on how well you can memorize it and perform, plus if you can tumble, are a flyer, can do any flips etc,. Hope that helped. Feel free to message me if you need more details!
