Rated to Non Rated

I was recently given a rated job (RPA) through ROTC and was wondering if anyone knew the process of rejecting this position and going Non Rated instead. I got a Rated and Foreign Language EA.

You don't. At this point it's either being an RPA pilot in the USAF, getting out, or they'll pull you to active duty enlisted for 2 yrs.

Technically that is incorrect. It has happened before in my detachment and my Colonel said it was possible. Just wanted to know if someone went through a similar situation and has more information. Thank you for your input!

Well today I learned. I imagine that they'd have to fight hard for you.
 
Any particular reason you don't want it? It'll probably take a good reason for them to put you in something else.
 
Well I didn't put it high on my list, I was hoping to get CSO (had good scores) but they couldn't give me a waiver for height. So I got RPA. I would much rather try for something non rated that I would enjoy for the next 20 years than take RPA away from someone who would enjoy it.
