Many questions for reapplicant. He has been notified he is highly qualified and needs to contact admissions. Sounds promising but we wont get our hopes up again this year. Question is if he does get accepted, will he repeat his first year ? He is already very far ahead academically and is almost bored (He is in the Mechanical Engineering Program at SUNY Maritime) I would hate for him to repeat Calc and Physics again (he's already repeating them as he took AP in HS) I can't find any info on how re apps are treated that have competed their freshman year of college. My guess is that it would have to be case by case. So I'm crossing my fingers again. This kids lives and breathes USCG. If they don't take him they will lose out bigtime! I can only wonder if he wasn't a white male if he would already be there..................

Everyone completes the full 4 year program, all 200 weeks. He will enter as a 4c/Swab the same as everyone else. He may be able to validate certain classes, but any credits he earned as a freshman at SUNY will not carry over.

Usually they give validation exams for calc 1 and 2 and chemistry over swab summer, physics during MAP and CAP weeks. I know kids that have validated a bunch of classes, but it all depends on what you remember and can apply during swab summer. I took a year of college and validated one course here.
