If there are any admissions/BGO experts.....we are a Navy family.....Son made it to the last week and got the TWE. We are PCS'ing this summer from one state to another. Meanwhile son is attending a DI school and doing NROTC in another state. He is re-applying to USNA. Anyone know where he can/should apply for nominations? Home of record state, his college state, where we currently live, PCS state? Or all of the above? He's emailed admissions, but of course they are swamped and he hasn't heard back yet. Just curious if anyone here knows...thanks in advance!

I assume you still claim your DS as a dependent -- that is the case with almost all college students. If so, his home of legal residence is your home. He should apply from your new home state, unless your move is so late that the applications for the MOCs close before the move is completed, in which case he could apply from your current state. That also assumes both parents are legal residents of the new state. If the parents have different states of legal residence, he can apply to either -- not both. In the end, he can only apply to one set of MOCs.

usna1985 thank you! We did hear back from admissions today who advised applying now from our current state. Our home of record is different, but I think reapplying from the same state will be our route as who knows when the PCS will occur....thanks again!

Agree that if you don't know your PCS date, then reapplying from same state makes sense. Keep in mind that MOCs want to nominate people who live in THEIR state, for constituent relations purposes. Thus, if you moved in June and applications close in late October, the "old" MOC may wonder what's going on. The only other thing to consider is the competitive nature of your current and new states. If you're moving to North Dakota, go with the new state! [It's not that folks from ND are less competitive, it's that there are fewer of them to compete against..]
