Re-use of waivers

I applied for a sinusitis waiver for USAFA and AFROTC, and recently had to see an AF doc for his evaluation. He said that there should be no problems with me serving and that he would recommend I receive the waiver.

So assume that I do get the waivers granted for this, but I dont get into USAFA or the ROTC scholarship. I would do non-scholarship ROTC, but would I have to go through the whole waiver process again before entering my junior year? Will DoDMERB still have my file in their records, so that I dont have to get ANOTHER CT scan and ANOTHER air force docs opinion? Would my condition still be waived, or am I going to have to put it all on the line again?

Thanks in advance
Nick

DoDMERB will retain your records for at least 3 years on paper, and at least 5 years electronically. Antoinette linked to one of my previous posts, that states the DoDMERB physical is good for 2 years. That is 2 years from the date on the physical examination.

As for waivers, each service does it a little differently, and to be honest, I can't remember who does what exactly. Some of the academies and ROTC programs allow a waiver to be good for 2 years, others want to review it again if an applicant did not accept/get offered an appointment.

You will not have to redo any of the examinations that you have already gone through, unless there is a change in your medical status. EDIT: You will have to fill out a statement of present health questionnaire if it has been over one year since your examination.

Hope that answers the question.
