I was wait-listed for this year and already have plans to reapply (pending a miracle). For my Plan B I'll probably enroll at a state university during the summer term (course registration opens next month) and take 15 credits over the summer: Calc, Chem, English and Stats. Could I apply EA again to USCGA because I would technically have taken a full semester of college before the deadline?

Great question...have you checked with your Admissions Officer? It's not one of the more common questions, that I've ever seen. Would be curious to know the answer to that. If I had to predict, though, I'd guess you'd still be lumped in with the other college applicants.

But don't give up yet...you are still in the hunt :)

I have some information I can share with you on being waitlisted and about EA in general. Please PM me if you are interested.

I was in the same situation. I was denied an appointment and then spent a year at a community college. I was not allowed to apply for early action because they require a full semester of grades. I believe this holds to all current college students, no matter what semester they signed up for.

Your best option would be to call the admissions hotline listed on the USCGA website. The admissions workers are very knowledgeable and helpful.

ckarve - I am also on the wait list from EA application. I have B plan ready where I will study engineering at Penn State. I would appreciate any information you can share, although I do not know how to PM on this forum. Please send me a PM if you get the chance.

Thank you!

EA is not available if you have attended university is what I understand. This was my son's 3rd attempt to get in this year (and he got an appointment this time!), but he always had to do the regular application method once he took college courses.
